Optical Absorption and Fluorescence Spectral Analysis of Nd 3 + Doped Bismuth Boro - Silicate Glasses
Glasses having compositions 20B2O3.(79.5-x) Bi2O3.xSiO2 (10 ≤ x ≤ 40, mol%) doped with 0.5 mol% of Nd ions were prepared by melt quench technique. The amorphous nature of the glasses was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies. The spectroscopic properties of Nd ions in borate bismuth silicate glasses as a function of bismuth oxide were investigated using optical absorption and fluorescence spec...
متن کاملMechanical response of sodium silicate glass
We propose a new method using coarse-graining and molecular dynamics to calculate structural and mechanical properties for sodium silicate glasses at different scales. Using this method we were able to describe the mechanical behavior of the material, this way a new constitutive model was developed which could be used in continuum calculations.
متن کاملOptical Properties of Bismuth Tellurite Based Glass
A series of binary tellurite based glasses (Bi(2)O(3))(x) (TeO(2))(100-) (x) was prepared by melt quenching method. The density, molar volume and refractive index increase when bismuth ions Bi(3+) increase, this is due to the increased polarization of the ions Bi(3+) and the enhanced formation of non-bridging oxygen (NBO). The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) results show the bond...
متن کاملNear infrared broadband emission of bismuth-doped aluminophosphate glass.
Near infrared broadband emission characteristics of bismuth-doped aluminophosphate glass have been investigated. Broad infrared emissions peaking at 1210nm, 1173nm and 1300nm were observed when the glass was pumped by 405nm laser diode (LD), 514nm Ar+ laser and 808nm LD, respectively. The full widths at half maximum (FWHMs) are 235nm, 207nm and 300nm for the emissions at 1210nm, 1173nm and 1300...
متن کاملLead-silicate glass optical microbubble resonator
Microbubble whispering gallery resonators have the potential to become key components in a variety of active and passive photonic circuit devices by offering a range of significant functionalities. Here, we report on the fabrication, optical characterization, and theoretical analysis of lead-silicate glass, optical microbubble resonators. Evanescent field coupling to the microbubbles was achiev...
